Visaginas is youngest city of Lithuania granted city rights in 1995 (established in 1975). It was build as a city for nuclear power plant workers, but nuclear power plant isn’t only one famous object near Visaginas.
Visaginas is located on Visaginas lake and nearby the largest lake of Lithuania – Druksiai (Drūkšiai) lake. This lake was perfect for cooling Ignalina power plant and also perfect for summer fun.

In year 1253 Mindaugas the only king of Lithuania and his wife Morta were coronated. 6th July is a National day in Lithuania and in almost every city and town people are celebrating.
This year we want to invite you to visit Kernave – the first historical capital of Lithuania. Lot of activities will entertain guest on July 6-7 th in Kernave.

Trakai History Museum (Trakai Castle)

Trakai history museum is very popular museum in Lithuania. One of the most tourist-catching thing is that museum is located on the island in the castle.
The museum was founded in 1948 as Trakai Ethnographic museum. 13 years later museum renamed to the current name – Trakai History Museum and restored island castle was given to museum.
Trakai History museum on the island castle contains lot of exponates from Trakai town history and life. You can see art andcraft, furnitures,stamps, clocks, hunting trophies.

Lithuanian zoo (Kaunas zoo)

In year 1935 Lithuanian zoologist Tadas Ivanauskas initiated zoo in Kaunas. In 1938, when zoo was opened, there was 40 animals. Today you can see about 3000 various animals.
Lithuanian zoo is very popular among children. They can not only walk in the zoo, but also try riding pony or donkey and play in the playground.

Hill of witches

Hill of witches is outdoor sculpture park in Juodrante. The sculpture park was created in 1979. Now you can found about 80 different wooden sculptures made by Lithuanian sculptors.
Hill of witches is very popular for celebrating Midsummer night.
You will see dragon, thunder, devil, gates of hell and more interesting sculptures.
It is very beautiful view from top the of hill. In one side you can see Baltic see in other Curionian lagoon.

Belmontas – beautiful part of Pavilniai regional park

Belmontas is very famous because of waterfalls, watermill and restaurant complex. You will find Belmontas just 10 minutes away (by car) from Vilnius Old-town in Pavilniai Regional Park.

Dead dunes

Dead dunes (also called gray dunes) are in Neringa, between Pervalka and Juodkrantė in teritory of Nagliai nature reserve.
Dunes are called gray because of predominant color of plants.
The highest dunes are Vingkopė (51 m) and Nagliai dune (53 m).
It is known that dunes four times (between year 1675 and 1934) drowned Nagliai village in the sand.
If you need to relax, forget all your problems and noise of city then you should visit dead dunes and do not forget your family. Dead dunes are very loved

Television tower in Vilnius was build and started to work in 31st January, 1981. It is a 365.24 m (1,071 ft).
In 13th January, 1991 Vilnius TV tower played very big role when 14 unarmed civilians lost their lives and 700 were injured opposing the Soviet military seizure of the tower. Today 13th January is national event.
